May 8, 2025 Our valued client, a premier healthcare organization servicing the senior community, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team based in Clearwater, FL. This is an incredible opportunity for a Senior Accountant to be involved in a lead position while managing a staff of two. The Senior Accountant must be technically strong, comfortable taking ownership of the month-end close process, and familiar with healthcare billing.

SALARY/HOURLY RATE

$70k – $80k

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Accountant will be reporting directly to the CEO and primarily assisting in general assurance that accounting is accurate, specifically during the month-end close. This position will serve as a supervisor in the department and be leaned on for various strategic finance functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Perform month-end procedures, including the final review before hard close approval.
Responsible for significant A/R management, including collections, Medicaid billing, insurance follow-up, and discrepancies and denial management.
Conduct monthly financial reviews with various business units to ensure the budget is being adhered to.
Review inventory transactions and manage inventory levels for the entire facility.
Responsible for annual budget planning while working with department heads in the creation of each budget.
Perform account analysis and financial statement reconciliation.
Responsible for cash flow management on properties, projections, forecasting, and monthly close.
Assist with documenting processes and SOPs for the accounting team.
Supervise the Accounting staff of two, responsible for training and developing when necessary.
Assist in special projects such as annual tax filings, quarterly bank reporting, and collection of cash reports.
Responsible for managing all banking activities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Minimum of 3+ years of experience within an accounting capacity.
Experience in the healthcare industry.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, sum if, etc.).
Must be proficient in QuickBooks Desktop.
Organization, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
Involves extensive internal and external customer communication.
Must be able to make independent decisions on routine department.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business degree is required.
