Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Largo, Florida. This is a Contract-to-long-term opportunity, offering a chance to contribute to financial operations in the government sector while working fully onsite. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in managing financial activities, providing insights, and ensuring accuracy in reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial operations for assigned properties, including managing Section 8 programs and grant-related activities.
  • Monitor cash flow needs, manage bank accounts, and handle wire transfers and cash investments.
  • Prepare and review financial documents such as revenue and expense entries, payroll records, and invoices.
  • Execute monthly close-out processes, including accruals, financial analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Develop and maintain fixed asset depreciation schedules and support year-end closing documentation.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, analyzing data to guide decision-making.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve financial systems and processes, incorporating best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Utilize software tools such as Excel and Yardi to optimize accounting workflows. Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Ideally 10+ years of accounting experience, demonstrating attention to detail, including general ledger and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
  • Strong expertise in account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in an onsite environment.
  • Open-mindedness and adaptability to work with diverse backgrounds and team dynamics.
