Job Description
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in St Petersburg, Florida. This role emphasizes routine-based accounting tasks in a steady work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately processing weekly payroll and taxes
- Managing monthly sales tax, quarterly, and year-end filings to ensure total accuracy
- Preparing project requisitions and progress billings using various software
- Handling retainage, lien releases, and payment processing
- Overseeing Accounts Payable and ongoing Accounts Receivable
- Performing bank account reconciliations and making necessary billing adjustments
- Assisting with monthly and quarterly reporting as well as cash flow projections
- Collaborating on forecasting labor, materials, and job planning
- Keeping track of payments to the company’s former owner. Requirements
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures
- Strong knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR) operations
- Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations
- Acquaintance with General Ledger management and operation
- Ability to prepare and analyze Journal Entries
- Experience in Month End Close procedures
- Proficiency in using NetSuite for financial management
- Familiarity with Oracle and its functions in accounting
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and its applications in accounting
