Staff Accountant Position Available In Sarasota, Florida

We are working with a client in Sarasota that is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This role is onsite Monday – Thursday and on Fridays remote.

Staff Accountant Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the SEC and other regulatory bodies. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset transactions. Reconcile bank accounts, general ledger accounts, and intercompany transactions. Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Maintain supporting documentation for all financial transactions. Assist with vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and invoice processing. Ensure accurate customer billing and collections processing. Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management. Assist with sales tax, property tax, and other compliance filings. Support corporate tax reporting and preparation in coordination with tax advisors. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve internal controls. Support ERP system enhancements and accounting software implementations. Staff Accountant Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a publicly traded company or audit firm. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.
