Accountant Lighthouse Counsel 160 Bishop Drive, Athens, GA 30606 Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP. Perform bank reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial data. Conduct cash flow analysis to monitor liquidity and forecast future financial performance. Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices and payments. Assist with corporate accounting tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions. Utilize financial software for data entry, reporting, and analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that drive business strategies. Skills Proficiency in financial software applications is essential for efficient data management. Knowledge of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) regulations is a plus. Experience in corporate accounting practices is highly valued. Strong understanding of debits and credits, technical accounting principles, and public accounting standards. Familiarity with governmental accounting practices will be beneficial. Ability to perform bank reconciliation accurately and efficiently. Competence in cash flow analysis to aid in strategic planning. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are crucial for maintaining accurate records.
