Job Description

Project Accountant [Hybrid] 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 303 Peachtree Center Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA 30303 Newcomb & Boyd, a multi discipline engineering firm in Atlanta, Georgia is looking for a Project Accountant . The Project Accountant will support firm operations by managing project level financial operations of the company. They will serve as a liaison to project leaders, clients, subcontractors, and other internal staff, organize and coordinate internal meetings and project efforts, and oversee special projects. Responsibilities Create and maintain projects in Unanet Review proposal and contracts to ensure proper billing procedures Complete timely and accurate billing for designated projects Create client invoices with Project Managers or Partner In Charge. Provide Project Managers with project reports on a weekly basis. Manage AR and collections Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on outstanding AR balances. Monitor individual construction project budgets. Ensure AP is processed accurately and timely, and coding is accurate. Supervise vendor & subcontractor maintenance. Attend weekly financial reporting meetings with the Partners. Monitor and follow up on unbilled job costs. Reconcile monthly Work In Process balances. Ensure supporting documentation is attached within Unanet accurately and timely. Maintain written procedures Follow and adhere to the highest level of customer service expectations, for both internal and external clients Display a positive, “can do” attitude and ensure that members of the team are following company standards Assist with general finances for designated business groups and expense report review Assist with preparing a monthly forecast report Assist with month end close in reconciling assigned accounts Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent professional and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in a team in an entrepreneurial environment Excellent written and verbal communication, administrative, organization, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Exemplary planning and time management skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Word & PowerPoint, a plus) Advanced analytical skills, including the ability to collect and analyze information, problem solve, and make decisions based on the findings Ability to work on projects from start to end and work under pressure Ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and deadlines Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline.
