Position Objective:
Accurately and timely preparation of cost models and/or standard costing for domestic manufactured products and processed tissues. Ensure accuracy of inventory and deferred preservation costs (tissues) on the balance sheet and cost of products and preservation services on the income statement. Includes preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, preparing descriptive or supporting schedules, and working on special projects as necessary.
Responsibilities:
Prepare the domestic models and/or standard costing that calculate the cost of products and processed tissues, including:
Prepare cost models on a monthly basis
Update cost models periodically to ensure costing accuracy
Routinely review inputs into costing models
Analyses support, investigation, and/or preparation including:
Costs, inventory, and gross margins
New product development and costing information for ROI calculations
Obsolescence and scrap trending
Budgeting, including:
Prepare/support the cost of products and preservation services budgeting
Support budget to actual analyses, including discussing how and why results differed from expectations
Assist in annual review and update of internal controls over the cost accounting processes and quarterly review procedures for SEC filings
Prepare or support routine cost accounting and inventory/deferred preservation cost functions, including:
Physical and cycle counts of inventory and tissues to support balance sheet accounts
Recording of routine monthly accruals for procurement costs, freight, etc.
Prepare account reconciliations in BlackLine system
Timely and accurate preparation of cost models for actual and budget
Analysis of budget to actual variances with reconciliation details
Timely and accurate information for costing, gross margin, and inventory analyses
Participate in other analysis and projects as necessary
Qualifications:
3 years public accounting experience (Big 4 experience preferred), 3 years costing experience, or 5 years industry accounting experience required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
Intermediate to Advanced skills in full Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
Experience with large accounting systems, SAP experience a plus
Clear understanding of US GAAP and ability to apply this knowledge
A high level of initiative and drive
Superior attention to detail and ability to maintain to-do lists and stick to tight deadlines
Great critical thinker with a natural curiosity to analyze and improve business results and processes
Experience with Workday Adaptive and Qlik is a plus
MAcc, MBA, and/or CPA is a plus
