Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a Staff Accountant in Smyrna, GA. In this direct hire role, you will be responsible for applying principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts. Reconciles general ledger accounts monthly, review and resolve outstanding issues. Process Accounts Payable and reconciles vendor accounts. Manages vendor relations to resolve disputes and issues. Maintain PO log & monitor non-compliant invoices. Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software. Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits. Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries. Cash receipt processing and customer account reconciliation. Assist with Deloitte Audit for documentation. Assist with J-Sox audit for documentation. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close. Maintains Concur software for employee expenses and approval process. Complies with the company’s policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate degree in accounting is required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
Three to five years of accounting experience required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites. Must have knowledge of MS Excel.
