Job Description
Georgia’s largest privately owned heavy civil construction and asphalt manufacturing company, is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, self-motivated individual to fulfill the Tax Accountant role. This individual will be responsible for many aspects of tax preparation. This person will gain insight into current tax preparation techniques from the Tax Manager and other individuals that contribute to various tax preparation duties. Furthermore, this role will be afforded opportunities to gain continuing education and insights from sources external to the company such as webinars, conferences, and other tax industry organizations. Responsibilities Monitoring and meeting all filing deadlines Preparation and filing monthly sales & use tax and annual property tax returns Accruals related to tax Assist in preparing corporate income tax returns Preparing and filing form 990 Preparing and filing partnership returns Preparation and filing various types of 1099s Preparing and paying corporate state income tax deposits Business License filing Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s in accounting Required Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel High attention to detail Excellent communicator…not afraid to ask questions or make suggestions Eager to learn new things Preferred Skills CCH ProSystemFx Tax Construction and manufacturing industries
