Leadingmercial real estate advisorypany with 70+ years collective experience and $2 billion in transactions, specializing in serving industrial property owners and users across the SE, including Atlanta and Savannah, seeks to hire a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join their growing team. Company prides themselves in delivering high-impact real estate solutions with integrity, expertise, and results. This newly created position offers growth and is critical to supporting their real estate projects and joint ventures through accurate financial tracking, reporting, andpliance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles, preferably with real estate experience.
Company is located in the Buckhead area along the West Paces Ferry corridor. Convenient access to I-75, I-185, the Galleria/Cumberland area. Position reports to a Managing Partner and the Controller working closely with the Asset Manager and Construction Manager on projects. This is an on-site role working Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and update accounting records for real estate projects, including bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation in line with JV Agreements.
Record daily financial transactions including purchases, sales, receipts, and general ledger activity.
Prepare and reconcile journal entries, ie statements, balance sheets, trial balances, and cash flow reports for equity and joint venture partners.
Reconcile various financial accounts in accordance with GAAP.
Assist in audits and ensurepliance with partner reporting requirements.
Support tax preparation by coordinating with CPAs and providing accurate financial data.
manage construction loan and equity draw processes – tracking expenses against project budgets.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
Collaborate with vendors, banks, equity partners, and JV partners as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GAAPpliance.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (Yardi or other real estate accounting software is a plus).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong problem-solving,munication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Real estate or project accounting experience is a strong plus.
