Job Description
Summary:
This position supports program activities through assisting with the financial recording and reporting requirements of Wellroot and its affiliates. This position will be responsible for the billing, reporting, and accounting for grants and contracts. The Staff Accountant will assist the Controller and other staff as needed to complete duties as assigned by the Controller.
Essential Functions:
Manage county A/R process and liaise with program managers
Begin DFCS billing to mailed by the 5th day of month
Complete Monthly Caminos 15th of each month
Complete Quarter FFR for Controller
Update monthly recurring journal entries
Begin preparing investment journal entries
Enter bank transfers
Complete bank reconciliations and post final cash
Complete balance sheet reconciliation
Enter other month-end entries (as required)
Review and approve A/P for processing in Microix
Assist Controller with fiscal audit
Other duties as assigned by the Controller
Key Performance Indicators:
Journal entry work to be completed by the second day following month end
Month End completed on the 15th of each month
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, efficiently and simultaneously
Billing and collections of aged receivables experience is highly desirable
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and Outlook
Good written and oral communication skills are essential
Education and Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university
2-4 years of general ledger accounting experience 2 years of transactional accounting experience, preferably using Microsoft Dynamics GP
Work Environment This job is a hybrid position with regular office presence, and off-site presence for specific meetings and events. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets postage machines.
