Property Accountant Position Available In Fulton, Georgia

Description We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to oversee the financial management of a diverse portfolio of properties. This contract position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with institutional clients while managing complex property accounting functions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in real estate accounting, keen attention to detail, and proficiency with industry-specific software.

Responsibilities:

• Manage financial accounting for a portfolio of 45-50 properties, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all tasks.
• Enter and update lease data, maintaining accurate tenant charges and reflecting modifications as necessary.
• Process tenant-related financial transactions, including rent calculations, reconciliations, and cash receipt allocations.
• Oversee accounts payable functions by processing vendor invoices and ensuring proper coding to relevant properties and accounts.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of property-level General Ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Review and analyze financial statements for assigned properties, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Collaborate with property managers to ensure financial and operational accuracy across the portfolio.
• Generate and deliver detailed financial reports to institutional clients, maintaining strong client relationships.
• Provide insights to improve the financial performance and operational efficiency of the managed properties. Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of property accounting experience, ideally within real estate or property management.
• Proficiency in property management software, such as Yardi or similar platforms.
• Experience with AP/Pay-to-Invoice systems like AvidXchange.
• Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles, including tenant accounting and GL reconciliations.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
• Previous experience working with institutional clients is highly preferred.
