Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with financial data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards, particularly in the healthcare sector. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in accounting software, advanced Excel skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality financial insights. + Sage 100 Software System + MS Excel, Pivot Tables / V Look Ups + Prepares and reviews monthly interim financial statements and their presentation to include all transactions in accordance with FASB and GAAP principles. + Ensuring compliance with accounting principles, policies, and industry regulations, including
FASB, GAAP, IRS
guidelines, as well as other State and Federal Regulatory Agencies as applicable. + Preparing, verifying, and maintaining financial records, including journal entries and general ledger accounts. + Prepares Cost Report Schedules and information requests as directed. + Prepares Insurance Coverage process for organization. + Assists with Reimbursement Activities as directed. + Assists with the preparation of the Finance Committee Package. + Reconciles bank statements monthly. + Reports financial information monthly, as required. + Prepares accounting information and assists auditors in completion of audit. + Assists in preparation of annual financial budget. + Prepares annual tax return information and regulatory filings for submission to preparers. + Assists in the development of policy and procedures. + Maintains up to date knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and legal requirements to ensure compliance. + Extracting and interpreting financial data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies that may impact business performance. + Generating reports and delivering key financial insights to aid in decision making processes. + Assists in training and developing other accountants as requested. + Provides financial and other information to the Controller, VP of Finance and department heads as requested or as situation warrants + Refers non routine accounting issues to the VP of Finance. + Seeks out needed information by staying informed and involved by attending meetings, reading memos, policies, meeting minutes, newsletters, email and other appropriate information in a timely manner. + Reliable attendance and punctuality, including observing appropriate break times and extending a scheduled shift when necessary to meet department demands + Performs duties in a safe manner, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures + Complies with the Code of Conduct and all appropriate policies and procedures + Other duties, as assigned, that are relevant to the position and department Requirements
- Proficiency in Sage 100 and advanced Microsoft Excel functions, such as pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and healthcare-specific financial regulations.
- Experience with financial audits, tax filings, and reimbursement processes.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP is a plus.
