Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This is a long-term contract position offering flexibility in work hours and the opportunity to contribute within the government industry. The role involves managing a variety of accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial records, and supporting the team during audits.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update financial records, including adding assets, managing disposals, and overseeing depreciation and amortization schedules.
  • Perform journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations for cash accounts and other financial records.
  • Assist with the preparation of audit documentation and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Conduct analysis of capital expenditures and provide detailed reports to management.
  • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Support the month-end closing process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Utilize accounting software such as Oracle, NetSuite, or QuickBooks to manage financial data.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth transitions and updates in financial systems.
  • Reconcile bank statements and identify discrepancies to maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders. Requirements
  • Proven experience in accounting functions, including general ledger and journal entries.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with month-end close procedures and financial reconciliations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and present findings.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
