Cost Accounting Analyst Exempt Summary:
The Cost Accounting Analyst is responsible for leading the financial stewardship of BITZER US’s manufacturing operations, with a focus on cost control, inventory valuation, and financial reporting. This role partners closely with the VP of North American Operations and the Director of Finance to support strategic decision-making, manage expenditures, and improve financial performance. The Plant Controller ensures accurate and timely cost accounting, leads budget and forecast processes, and supports cross-functional teams in achieving operational efficiency and cost reductions.
Reports To:
Director of Finance with a dotted line TO the VP Of Operations Duties & Tasks . Develop and maintain cost accounting systems; analyze variances in standard vs actual costs and report findings. Provide financial support and recommendations to plant leadership to control expenditures and make informed decisions. Analyze and report on inventory activities including valuation, adjustments, physical counts, and cycle counts. Prepare monthly gross margin analysis by customer, product, and job, support accurate P&L reporting. Monitor capital expenditures, asset movements, and ensure complete documentation of asset transactions. Participate in annual budget development and rolling forecast updates. Enforce sound financial controls, policies, and compliance with GAAP and corporate standards. Perform journal entries, financial reports, and variance analysis during month-end close. Lead and support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cost Accounting Expertise:
Ability to design, manage, and analyze manufacturing cost systems to support strategic decisions.
Analytical Thinking:
Strong ability to interpret financial data and recommend actionable insights.
Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization.
Financial Systems Proficiency:
Strong Microsoft Excel and ERP (preferably SAP) experience in a manufacturing environment.
Problem Solving:
Ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions under minimal supervision
Organizational Skills:
Detail-oriented with strong time management and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience:
3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Experience:
Experience working with an
ERP System Knowledge Requirements:
Solid understanding of GAAP principles, inventory controls, manufacturing cost structures, and financial reporting.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a professional office environment within a manufacturing facility. Regular interaction with shop floor teams and operational leaders is required. May occasionally require PPE (e.g., safety glasses or hearing protection) when visiting production areas. Exposure to a mix of office and industrial settings.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, bend, and reach. Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally. Use of hands for typing, writing, and manipulating office tools is frequent.
