Senior Office Manager/ Accountant:
The Senior Office Manager/Accountant will manage and oversee all aspects of day to day office operations in accounting, including staff, budgets, APandAR, and other related financial activities ensuring the smooth functioning of the office environment and implementing strategic improvement.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise and manage administrative staff: This includes training, performance evaluations, and addressing any issues that may arise.
Lead by example: Demonstrate strong organizational skills, time management, and communication skills.
Motivate and manage the team: Foster a positive and productive work environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department.
Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
Maintains the general ledger.- Maintain and improve office systems and procedures•.•Implement efficient workflows, streamline processes, and ensure compliance with company policies.
Manage office supplies and equipment.
Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
Reconciles customer accounts and manages accounts receivable collections.
Verifies payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Files required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
Experience in QuickBooks Desktop is needed. Minimum of 1 year.
Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
Highly proficient with office and accounting software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
