Job Description
Job Summary Responsible for cost control, including Profit and Loss analysis, and production reports. Accountable for the correct and timely processing of various General Ledger reports, analysis, reconciliations, and regulatory data submissions. Job Duties and Responsibilities Maintains accounting records and reports. Prepares financial statements, reports, verifies audit data, and completes posting activities to the general ledger. Prepares vouchers and provides daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports on account activities. Provides a variety of accounting support; prepares routine paperwork, schedules, exhibits, and account summaries. May be required to present and support findings; makes recommendations for improvement. Examines a variety of accounting documents; verifies accuracy of computations and ascertains/verifies all transactions are properly recorded and supported, in accordance with GAAP as well as company policies and procedures Utilizes the practical application of technical accounting practices and concepts; raises questions about unusual or questionable items, and presents suggestions for resolution and/or solution. Ensures the integrity of deposits, payables, and receivables. Monitors overhead expenditures. Monitors expenditures and reconciles account balances to the general ledger. Prepares schedule for cash flow, including tracing amortization expenses, depreciation expenses and fixed asset additions/retirements. Performs data analysis, budgeting and forecasting. Researches and prepares management reports comparing factors affecting product and service profitability. Provides various account reconciliations and reports as required or requested; provides general support to the accounting function. Prepares reports for management, regulatory agencies, and other third-parties on the state of the finances; develops new procedures for improved financial records maintenance and reports compiling. Assists management with account research and audits as required. Maintains knowledge base of sales, use and property tax compliance issues and regulations. Maintains up-to-date knowledge base of the rules, operations, and standards of accounting operations as presented under GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). May lead the day-to-day activities of an assigned team/area. Provides leadership and direction to members of the department, performing those responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies and applicable laws. May provide input on interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning or directing work, and appraising performance Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master of Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years of experience as an Accountant or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certifications:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
In depth knowledge of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong computational, mathematical, and accounting skills. Leadership skills and the ability to coordinate the work of others. Good communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, and the ability to be detail oriented. Ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner.
