Position Summary The Cost Accountant will be responsible for tracking, analyzing, and reporting manufacturing costs to support financial accuracy, margin analysis, and decision-making. This role will work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and operations to drive efficiency, cost savings, and compliance with industry standards.

salary:

$60,000 – $90,000 per year shift: First work hours: 8 AM – 5 PM education: Bachelors Responsibilities Analyze and track manufacturing costs, labor, and overhead allocation Develop standard costs for products and maintain cost accounting system Prepare monthly cost reports and variance analysis (actual vs. standard) Collaborate with production and operations teams to understand cost drivers Assist in the development of budgets and forecasting models Conduct physical inventory audits and cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies Monitor BOM (Bill of Materials) and routing changes for financial impact Support pricing decisions and margin analysis for new or existing products Ensure compliance with internal controls and applicable accounting standards (GAAP, FAR/DFAR if government contracts involved) Participate in ERP system upgrades and enhancements related to cost tracking Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred) understanding of GAAP and standard cost systems Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) analytical skills with attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams CPA or CMA preferred, but not required Skills Chartered Accountant Cost Accounting Direct Cost Cost Reporting Process Cost Project Cost Standard Cost/Cost Accounting Standards Incurred Cost Submissions Job Cost Certified Management Accountant Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) Benefit Cost Containment Activity Based Cost Manufacturing Cost Acct Cost of Goods Sold Qualifications Years of experience: 3 years Experience level: Experienced Randstad is a world leader in matching great people with great companies.
