Job Summary The Senior Manager, Corporate & Technical Accounting, plays a key role in supporting the Controller’s group to ensure the integrity of financial statements for a multi-billion-dollar organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the technical accounting area within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance • This position will split their time between technical accounting and traditional corporate accounting responsibilities. Job Responsibilities Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Analyze and record complex transactions (leases, debt, hedging, purchase accounting, goodwill impairment, etc.). Prepare and review financial statements, including cash flow, equity, consolidations, and balance sheets. Conduct technical research, write white papers, and recommend accounting treatments. Ensure compliance with internal controls and evolving regulations. Prepare annual reports and implement new reporting standards. Train accounting staff on new standards and policy updates. Collaborate across departments to integrate accounting changes smoothly. Maintain and update accounting policies to ensure accuracy and consistency. Serve as main contact for auditors on technical accounting issues. Draft technical accounting memos for audit committee review. Corporate Accounting & Close Manage month-end close for multiple ERP systems, including journal entries and reconciliations. Support monthly reporting and financial statement preparation. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for corporate departments. Process Improvement Support ERP system implementation and drive process enhancements. Monitor industry trends and accounting updates to maintain compliance. Perform additional responsibilities as needed. Education Bachelors’ degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution; Masters of Accountancy or equivalent master’s degree preferred but not required. Active CPA is required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 6+ years accounting experience, including 4-6 years in a top 10 public accounting firm; 2+ years in a large company (>$3B revenue) preferred Deep understanding of GAAP and complex accounting areas (e.g., financial statements, valuations, equity, M&A, derivatives, debt) Strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills; effective with senior leadership Manufacturing or public accounting firm experience preferred Proficient in ERP systems (Oracle, M3, Adage highly preferred); OneStream/Hyperion experience a plus Comfortable in fast-paced, multi-entity environments; self-starter with initiative Skilled in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel (intermediate to advanced) Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
