Accountant Deep South Equipment Shreveport, LA 71119 Deep South Equipment in Shreveport, LA, seeks an accountant who is willing to learn all aspects of the business in preparation to step in and oversee our seamless transition when our long-term CFO retires.

The Staff Accountant oversees all financial operations, ensures accuracy and compliance in financial reporting, and manages accounting functions. This role involves hands-on accounting tasks, guiding financial audits, and providing strategic financial management to support the company’s growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, preferably within the equipment or automotive industry.

Responsibilities:

 Oversee and manage all accounting functions.  Conduct regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.  Ensure the month-end process is timely, communicating delays and accurately resolving issues.  Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, accounting standards, and internal policies.  Coordinate and assist with all tax reporting and updates with outside tax accounts.

Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.  Previous accounting experience is required, with managerial experience preferred.  Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and management.  Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.  Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure in a fast- paced environment.  Interest in learning new skills and keeping pace with changing technologies.  Ability to work effectively in an office environment.  Ability to maintain confidentiality. Nice-to-Have  Experience in manufacturing or heavy equipment.
