Description
Westaff is recruiting for a Senior Accountant with some “lite” HR experience (helpful but will train). This is a wonderful opportunity with a great smallerpany in South Baton Rouge. This is an in-office (not remote) position and we are looking for someone to “own” the Accounting functions! Will also assist with HR functions such as onboarding employees, entering payroll or update employee status. Company is willing to train on the HR portion which will be about 15% of the job duties. Overall duties:
Verifying, allocating, posting and reconciling accounts payable and receivable
Producing error-free accounting reports and present their results
Analyzing financial information and summarizing financial status
Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. Senior Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.
Responsibilities
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
Review and rmend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Manage the assignment of tasks to accounting assistants and bookkeepers
Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
Provide input into department’s goal setting process
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
Assist with tax audits and tax returns
Direct internal and external audits to ensurepliance
Support month-end and year-end close process
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
