Sr. Accountant Position Available In Jefferson, Louisiana

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Metairie, Louisiana. This is a long-term contract position suited for someone with a strong background in accounting practices and financial management. The ideal candidate will excel at managing intercompany transactions, reconciling accounts, and overseeing general ledger activities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and record journal entries, maintaining precise financial documentation.
• Handle intercompany accounting tasks, including managing transactions between affiliated entities.
• File sales tax reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Conduct month-end close processes to finalize financial statements.
• Utilize QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel to organize and analyze financial data.
• Monitor and maintain financial records for secondary entities, ensuring seamless intercompany entries. Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation.
• Experience with intercompany accounting processes.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage month-end close procedures effectively.
• Knowledge of sales tax filings and related compliance requirements.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
