Sr. Accountant Position Available In Lafayette, Louisiana

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client’s team in Broussard, Louisiana (located just outside of Lafayette). This is a long-term contract position that offers the opportunity to contribute to key financial operations while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise and a solid understanding of financial processes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial records.
• Coordinate and manage audit preparation and scheduling activities.
• Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Handle cash management tasks, including monitoring and reconciling accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements to provide insightful recommendations.
• Track and manage fixed assets, ensuring proper documentation and compliance.
• Perform bank reconciliations to maintain accurate account balances.
• Cross-train in various areas of accounting to support multiple entities.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and analysis.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment on financial matters. Requirements
• Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial statement preparation.
• Expertise in balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Proficiency in managing general ledger and journal entries.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with an ERP system like Oracle or SAP.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing priorities.
