Supervising Senior Accountant Position Available In Lafayette, Louisiana

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Supervising Senior Accountant in the distribution industry, based in Lafayette, Louisiana, with our growing client. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and compliance of the financial reporting, supporting financial operations and participating in the month-end close process while supervising a strong team of accountants. Our client has a fun team and works hard but has a laid back atmosphere. This is an exciting industry and everyday you will help the organization by:

• Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting by overseeing financial operations.
• Active participation in the month-end and year-end close processes, which involve the preparation of financial statements.
• Reconciliation of bank statements and web-based receivable accounts such as Amazon, Amazon Pay, and PayPal.
• Management of fixed assets, including maintaining schedules for GAAP and tax purposes, and recording depreciation/amortization entries.
• Preparation and entry of journal entries, including accruals, to ensure the accurate presentation of financial statements.
• Analysis and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts, investigating discrepancies as needed.
• Supporting the preparation of year-end consolidating entries and coordinating with external CPAs during audits or financial reviews.
• Collaborating closely with the marketing department to ensure accurate accounting of advertising expenses.
• Preparation and distribution of weekly cash flow updates.
• Maintenance of digital filing systems for accounting records and documentation.
• Assisting with special projects, financial analysis, and other assignments as directed by the Controller.
• Collaboration with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies and ensure adherence to company policies.

• Accounting or finance degree and 5+ years of experience in the accounting field
• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Extensive knowledge of General Ledger management
• Demonstrated ability to handle Journal Entries
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in Month End Close activities
• Experience in Supervising accounting teams or individuals
• Strong understanding of GAAP Accounting standards
