This job guides the other staff and provides training and support with respect to the departmental reporting system. This job participates in the budget process by budgeting various general ledger expense accounts and guides other staff in the same task. This job maintains the departmental budgeting and reporting system and produces the monthly departmental financial statements. This job analyzes data across multi-systems and across the organization on a monthly basis. Acts as a liaison between department directors and the financial departments; analyzes assigned accounts or a specific entity’s income statements, prepares journal entries and account reconciliations, implements and maintains accounting control procedures and assists with the financial audit preparation and the coordination of the annual audit process.   • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Preferred
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) Work Experience Required
  • 3 years related experience Preferred
  • 2 year of Payroll tax and/or ADP Smart compliance experience Certifications Preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred
  • CPA and 2 years of experience Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.

Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Effective research compilation as it relates to payroll tax compliance and present back to leadership and payroll team. Ability to travel throughout and between facility locations. Ability to work various hours, such as nights, weekends, etc. Job Duties Provides guidance and training to Accountant I and IIs. Analyzes various budget expense items, identifies reconciling items, and identifies internal controls needed. Supervises the maintenance of various system files used in departmental reporting and cost allocation systems. Produces and disseminates departmental financial statements. Acts as a liaison between Finance and Operations and guides other Accountants in the same function by providing direction and prioritizing departmental requests. Provides research and education to Departmental Directors/Managers regarding departmental financial transactions. Reviews monthly Departmental Financial Statements prior to dissemination and facilitates corrective action if necessary. Participates in special financial projects and composes various ad hoc financial reports as required by management. Responsible to review all Payroll Tax filings to meet deadlines, process amendments, and research agency notices. Manages with other departments out of state worker process, audits and workflow.
