Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client in Mandeville, Louisiana. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations across multiple entities. The ideal candidate has a strong technical aptitude, demonstrates exceptional analytical skills, and thrives in complex financial environments.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile accounts and maintain general ledger accuracy, ensuring financial records are up-to-date and precise.
- Monitor and balance inventory reporting, conducting detailed analyses to align inventory data with overall financial statements.
- Prepare and manage federal and state tax returns, including compliance with applicable regulations.
- Collaborate with insurance and field teams to support general ledger policy reporting and adherence.
- Troubleshoot invoice workflows and allocation processes, resolving discrepancies as needed.
- Assist in quarterly worker’s compensation filings, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Partner with leadership to analyze financial policies and labor cost data, contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Leverage accounting software and systems to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency. Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles with a focus on financial reconciliation and reporting.
- Proficiency in relational databases and accounting systems, with experience in SQL preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas.
- Familiarity with inventory control processes and related financial analyses.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and solve problems with a detail-oriented approach.
- Experience in preparing and filing worker’s compensation and sales tax documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred but not required.
