Staff Accountant Position Available In Essex, Massachusetts

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. Based in Danvers, Massachusetts, this role focuses on ensuring accurate financial records and supporting critical accounting operations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing various aspects of accounting processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.

Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity.
• Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are correctly recorded.
• Prepare and post journal entries for routine and month-end activities.
• Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Monitor and resolve discrepancies in financial records and transactions.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial data and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Generate reports and provide insights to support decision-making processes.
• Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation as required. Requirements
• Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
• Strong knowledge of journal entries and month-end close procedures.
• Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in handling financial data.
