Position Purpose We are seeking an experienced full-time, hands-onSenior Accountant. Working with and supporting the Controller, the idealcandidate for this position will have primary day-to-dayresponsibilities for supporting all financial related activities,maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance and enhancingoperational efficiency. Essential Duties and responsibilitiesResponsible for following all established Vaupell policies, standardoperating procedures and safety practices.
General Accounting duties:
1.Assist with monthly & quarterly financial close process includingpreparation of journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, andreporting. 2. Provide support to corporate office on weekly & monthlydeliverables. 3. Maintain fixed asset data including additions,disposals, transfers and depreciation. 4. Participate in the annualfixed assets physical inventory. 5. Review Construction In Process (CIP)balances for timely capitalization of assets. 6. Support internal andexternal audits and SOX testing. 7. Identify opportunities for processimprovements to streamline accounting and financial activities. 8.Perform ad hoc projects and analyses as needed. ?
Cost AccountingDuties:
1. Review manufacturing transactions for accuracy and post tothe General Ledger. 2. Ensure standard costs and inventory valuation areaccurate and tie to the GL and financial reports. 3. Perform cost rollsfor new parts and annual updates of labor, materials and overhead rates.4. Assist with the planning and execution of the annual physicalinventory including analysis and reporting of results. 5. Performspecial projects and ad hoc requests as they pertain to inventory andcosting
Other:
Knowledgeable in other accounting cycles including A/Rcash receipts, A/R cash collections, A/P and payroll reporting. JobQualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, financeor related field
- 5+ years of experience in a senior accountingposition
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPS) and a solidunderstanding of GAAP regulations
- Manufacturing experience ispreferred
- Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of the IQMS ERPsystem is a plus
- Exceptional attention to detail, a positive attitudeand willingness to collaborate with the team
- Exhibits strong criticalthinking and problem-solving skills Candidates must be a |US Person|(i.
