Cost Accountant Position Available In Middlesex, Massachusetts

Vaco Boston has partnered with our client and we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cost Accountant to join their Finance team and drive accurate cost analysis and financial reporting that supports our business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain standard cost systems, including labor, overhead, and material costing Analyze production and operational costs and recommend improvements to enhance profitability Partner with Operations, Inventory, and Supply Chain to validate cost data and inventory valuation Monitor and report on variances, trends, and cost drivers Perform month-end close activities related to cost accounting, including journal entries and reconciliations Support CapEx tracking, fixed asset management, and related project accounting Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for cost components Ensure compliance with internal controls and GAAP standards

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
