Onboarding Accountant Job DescriptionWe’re currently seeking a skilled Onboarding Accountant to join our growing team at KeepingCount!

This position is vital for ensuring a smooth client journey while maintaining accurate financial records and managing project timelines. Responsibilities:

Review new clients financial records and identify items that need clean-upIdentify opportunities for the implementation of apps and automationGather and interpret information to evaluate the efficiency of financial proceduresPerform setup and integration of accounting software for new clients, including gathering requirements and configuring systems for QuickBooks Online and Sage IntacctPerform setup and integration of other ancillary reporting systems such as Bill.com, Expensify, VRPlatform, etc. Quickly learn and adapt to new software platforms as we establish partnerships with tools such as Track, Top Key, Ramp, RHO, Guesty Accounting, and othersProvide detailed account walkthroughs and assist multiple new clients with implementationClearly communicate account setup requirements and expectations with clients and key stakeholdersDive deep into current client processes to gain in-depth understanding of transaction flows. Provide suggestions for aligning current processes with industry standards and best practicesListen carefully to information provided by customers and ask clarifying questions to ensure proper use of KeepingCount toolsProvide technical support during onboarding, troubleshooting software issues, and coordinating with support teams Ensure customers receive superior serviceReview draft owner statements for the first months close for new clients to confirm it aligns with client expectations Present client details, processes, etc., to the internal team clearly and efficientlyCreate specialty reporting for clientsComplete clean-up, catch-up, and project accounting for new and existing clientsAssist in building and documenting internal processes and best practices for project work and clean-up

Work Experience:

5+ years in public accounting (must be able to receive raw data and be able to prepare month-end closeout)Proven track record in senior financial roles, ideally as a Senior Accountant or in a similar capacityCandidates should have experience:

Managing multiple priorities and deadlinesHandling multiple open projects and clients simultaneously

Required Skills/Abilities:

Strong financial and accounting expertise, with the ability to analyze complex financial dataStrong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while maintaining quality and accuracyExcellent communication skills to convey financial information and insights to executive leadership and team membersEnergized professional with a positive, team-oriented mindsetStrong problem-solving skills from an accounting standpointUnderstanding the clients needs and current challenges and translating that into long-term bookkeeping/accounting solutionsMust have a high drive for accountability and follow-throughStrong interpersonal skills outside of the organization communicating with the client is a large part of this roleExcellent phone and email etiquette

Technical Competencies:

Knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Sage Intacct as well as supporting systems (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Bill.com, Track, Ramp, RHO, and other relevant software)Experience in handling large data imports into QuickBooks Online accountsFamiliarity with setting up payroll platforms outside of QuickBooks Online, such as (Gusto, ADP, etc.)Familiarity with accounting-based work management systems a plus (Karbon, Asana, Slack, etc)Experience in setting up the mappings/integration between accounting software and 3rd party applications
