Role Summary:
The Senior Accountant supports the finance team inday-to-day operations and department- wide projects and is integralto the monthly close process, including reconciliations and journalentries. This role works independently in a fast-paced environment,has public company reporting experience and embraces a teammentality to support the entire organization. This role is based inWaltham, MA without the possibility of being remote.
PrimaryResponsibilities Include:
Assist with driving the monthly closingprocess and prepare account reconciliations Work cross functionallyto track monthly R D and G&A accruals and improve processesAnalyze monthly variances across accounts and investigatediscrepancies as needed Review monthly GL transactions to ensureaccuracy and consistency Review and monitor purchase requisitionsto ensure accuracy and consistency across the organization Act aspoint of contact for finance systems and provide operationalsupport across all departments in the organization to support ahigh-growth company General ledger / ERP implementation andmaintenance Support quarterly reviews and annual audit process withexternal auditors Support quarterly testing of internal controlwith external consultants Assist in establishing and enforcingproper accounting methods, policies and principles Ensurecompliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Supportmanagement and cross functional teams through ad-hoc reporting,analysis and special projects, and employee experience initiativesWork with various business providers to identify and implementappropriate software solutions for a high-growth company
Educationand Skills Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree inAccounting or similar field is required CPA is required Minimum of2-3 years of progressive accounting – Public accounting experiencerequired, life sciences experience is preferred Solid knowledge ofS. GAAP and SOX Highly detail-oriented and exceptionally organized;accountable to immediate team and internal stakeholders Ability towork collaboratively across departmental functions and build keyexternal relationships Excellent communication skills both writtenand verbal are mandatory Ability to manage and complete projectswith time constraints Ability to successfully work independentlyand within a team environment LI-Onsite The statements containedherein reflect general details as necessary to describe theprinciples functions for this job, the level of knowledge and skilltypically required, and the scope of responsibility, but should notbe considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements.
