Staff Accountant

Location:

Bedford, MA

Position Scope:

This position will be the primary finance person for Commissions (internal/external), Royalties, GPO Fees and support month end closing tasks related to revenue, COGS and inventory Additionally, they will prepare and support inventory/COGS reporting (eg: inventory reconciliations, gross margin analyses, support audit requests) and other related tasks as assigned.

Specific Tactical Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly accrual entries related to commissions, royalties and GPO fees
Perform reconciliations of all commission, royalties and GPO fee balance sheet accrual accounts.
Prepare month end journal entries for open sales order revenue accruals Prepare revenue reconciliations.
Prepare standard margin analyses for the COGS presentation file.
Assist in preparing inventory reconciliations
Assist with preparation of COGS presentation file
Assist with MFR slides for COGS, Inventory and Mfg Variances
Prepare monthly Variable compensation calculation and submission to payroll for payment.
Prepare quarterly variable compensation bonus calculation
Prepare monthly and quarterly distributor commissions including dispersing statements to distributors
Review GPO fee calculation and prepare submission to accounts payable for payment
Support Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets or other department needs as necessary.

Job Complexity:

The position requires a comprehensive understanding of general accounting principles. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires reconciliation and evaluation of identifiable factors. Requires the exercise of judgement within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions.

Required Qualifications:

A four-year accounting degree or equivalent experience
3 to 7 years of experience
SAP or similar ERP knowledge strongly preferred.
CPA certification preferred but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact cross-departmentally.
Detail oriented, ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment

Desired Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

Ability to work autonomously, effectively manage time and deliver results on time Excellent presentation skills, both written and in platform presentation format suitable for executive management
Familiarity with SAP S/4HANAand ability to export data to perform analyses
Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
