We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant III to join our Finance team in Lewiston, Maine. In this role, you’ll handle complex financial analysis and reporting, lead a team of accounting staff, and contribute to strategic financial initiatives that support organizational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities Supervise accounting staff:
hiring, training, workflow management, coaching, and performance reviews Analyze financial data to prepare complex reports, financial models, and budget variance analyses Support budgeting and forecasting processes; recommend and implement adjustments as needed Oversee general ledger activity, ensuring accurate entries and reconciliation with subsidiary ledgers Assist with or review tax calculations (sales, use, income, etc.) to ensure full compliance Manage internal and external audits; ensure accuracy and availability of financial records Evaluate financial systems and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, with focus in financial systems and tax regulations Strong command of accounting principles, reporting practices, and compliance standards Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); experience with accounting software CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required Key Competencies Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Comfortable working independently and in a team environment Working Conditions Hybrid work schedule with in-office presence in Lewiston, ME required Prolonged periods at a desk or computer Typical office environment with standard equipment and software Regular collaboration with internal departments and external contacts Join us and bring your expertise to a high-impact role with room to grow. today and help shape the future of our financial operations.
