Senior Staff Accountant – Urgently Hiring!

Pay:

$60,000+ annually

Hours:

Monday-Friday, flexible start and end times (7:00 AM-4:00 PM or 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, can be discussed during interview)

Start Date:

ASAP We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a full-time position with our client, a dynamic company in the manufacturing sector. This role is vital to the finance team, driving accounting controls and assisting with month-end close processes. The Senior Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, and prepare financial statements to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting. This is a business casual role located in Oxford, Maine. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for: Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes
Reconciling general ledger accounts and resolving discrepancies
Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Supporting internal and external audits with required documentation and schedules
Analyzing financial data to support business decisions
Assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation
Collaborating cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and other departments
Mentoring junior accounting staff as needed The ideal candidate for this role will have: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) and Excel
Experience with Blackline software and Sage Intacct (preferred)
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Experience in cost accounting and inventory management (preferred)
Familiarity with ERP systems in a manufacturing setting
Knowledge of housing or construction industry operations (preferred)
