Our Client, a Banking company, is looking for an Accountant IV for their Portland, ME/Hybrid location.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Sr. Specialized Finance Group Manager, the Accountant IV is responsible for providing specialized in-depth loan and deposit transaction expertise and contributing to the planning and development of loan system to general ledger integration.
Specifically, the Accountant IV will be:
Participate in daily or adhoc project standup calls and discussions and contributing working knowledge of loan accounting scenarios.
Assess business requirements for new loan system with focus on principal payments, interest accrual and payment activity, deferred fees, escrow collections & disbursements and applicable write downs and charge offs;
Manage ongoing communication and reporting process with the client and senior management;
Build and maintain positive working relationships by effectively communicating and regularly sharing information, issues, points of interest and knowledge with Finance management, colleagues, and internal and external business partners.
Support management and other team members in the achievement of individual, divisional and team goals.
Requirements:
10+ years in professional work experience (Finance & Accounting)
Experience in large scale projects
Experience in cost and shadow accounting
Effective time management, multi-tasking and organization skills to meet tight timelines and adapt to changing priorities
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
Team player and quick learner
Goal oriented, highly motivated and willing to positively accept new challenges.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high level of computer literacy.
Strong negotiation skills and good business acumen.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Lending experience in a Commercial or Corporate Banking environment is considered a significant asset;
Relevant professional certifications or accounting designations are considered a significant asset.
