Sr. Grant Accountant at Robert Half in Gorham, Maine, United States Job Description Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Grant Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in the greater Portland, Maine area. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial activities related to grant funding, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise in grant accounting within the non-profit sector.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial management and reporting of grant-funded projects, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.
• Prepare detailed financial statements, reconciliations, and reports related to grant activities.
• Monitor and manage cash flow associated with grant funding, including tracking expenditures and revenue.
• Conduct audits of grant-related financial records to ensure accuracy and adherence to organizational policies.
• Collaborate with program managers to align financial reporting with project goals and timelines.
• Maintain and update financial systems, including Blackbaud, to support grant accounting activities.
• Ensure proper allocation of funds across various grant programs while adhering to budgetary constraints.
• Provide guidance on grant compliance requirements to internal stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts for grant proposals.
• Review and improve internal processes related to grant management and accounting. Requirements
• Proven experience in grant accounting and financial management, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Proficiency in using financial and enterprise resource planning software, including Blackbaud.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing practices, and compliance regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage cash flow, capital, and grant-related finances.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide financial insights.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
