Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Portland, Maine. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic real estate and property organization. The role requires expertise in managing accounting processes and delivering accurate financial results within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and precise transactions.
- Assist with journal entries and month-end close procedures to maintain financial integrity.
- Collaborate on special accounting projects to support organizational goals.
- Verify and analyze financial data to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for audit and reporting purposes.
- Provide support for financial reporting and analysis as needed.
- Work closely with the team to address and resolve discrepancies in financial accounts. Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations and journal entries.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
