We move fast, expect excellence, and don’t waste time chasing loose ends. Our books shouldn’t either. We’re looking for a sharp, accountable Accountant/Bookkeeper who knows how to manage multi-entity financials, prep clean records for tax season, and proactively handle payroll and tax-related follow-ups without being asked twice.

What You’ll Do:

Maintain Daily Books Handle daily bookkeeping across three active EINs (and one standby). Keep ledgers accurate, organized, and audit-ready—no exceptions. Prepare for Taxes (Not Just During Tax Season) Own the prep. Keep books CPA-ready. Coordinate 1099s. Clean documentation, clear categories, no scrambling in April. Handle Tax Notices You’ll be the voice on the phone with tax agencies—state, federal, local. Read the notices, make the calls, resolve the issue. Done. Payroll Submission Review timesheets and get payroll info submitted to our provider—clean, timely, and accurate every cycle. Track seasonal changes, PTO, and bonuses. Reporting Provide summaries and insights to ownership—organized, useful, and on time.

You’ll Need:

Proven experience in multi-entity bookkeeping or accounting Strong command of QuickBooks Online Solid understanding of payroll processes and tax compliance Confidence communicating with tax authorities and resolving notices Ability to stay organized and deliver on recurring deadlines with minimal oversight Experience prepping books for handoff to a CPA or tax preparer

Schedule & Structure:

On-site once a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day (Naples, ME) Remote the rest of the year

Hourly:
