Start Date:
ASAP We are seeking a Staff Accountant for a full-time, direct-hire position for our client, a small family-owned company located in Sangerville, Maine. The Staff Accountant will handle a wide variety of accounting tasks ranging from general ledger management to financial reporting. The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, timely reporting, and efficient payroll and benefits processing. This is a stable, in-office position located in Sangerville, Maine with a close-knit and supportive team culture. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for: Reconciling accounts and supporting month-end closing processes Preparing accurate financial statements and related reports Processing payroll and managing related state and federal tax reporting Administering employee benefits and minimal HR signups Managing accounts receivable including reconciliations, credit, and collections Handling accounts payable including scheduling and vendor management Overseeing cash management and banking transactions Generating various ad hoc reports and financial analysis The ideal candidate for this role will have: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Proven experience with general ledger management and account reconciliations Broad accounting knowledge beyond AR/AP Familiarity with payroll processing and tax reporting (preferred) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in relevant accounting software and Microsoft Excel The ability to work independently in a small, casual office environment
