Senior Accountant Position Available In Jackson, Missouri

Description We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who excels in financial reconciliation, reporting, and month-end close processes. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations by identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Complete bank reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect all financial transactions.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end closings.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for complex financial analyses and reporting.
• Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Assist with QuickBooks management, including data entry and reporting tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting issues and improve processes.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations in all tasks. Requirements
• Proven experience in account reconciliation and financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of balance sheet and bank reconciliation processes.
• Proficiency in managing general ledger and journal entries.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks for accounting tasks and reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to handle month-end close processes efficiently.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
