Responsibilities Include:

• Prepare month end journal entries for all companies – including but not limited to cash, accrued expenses, futures activity, intercompany transactions, AR and AP.
• Complete monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts. Research and correct any variances.
• Monthly financial statement and related analytical report preparation.
• Record and monitor daily cash activities.
• Prepare bank reports to meet daily and monthly requirements.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations. Research and correct any variances.
• Oversight of cycle counts, monthly physical inventories, and inventory adjustments.
• Invoice customer sales orders.
• Maintenance of fixed assets in the system and monthly depreciation entries.
• Strong understanding of product costing in MRP computer system.
• Monthly variance reporting for plant related expenses and absorption.
• Cross-train as backup for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Recognize and communicate potential issues to his/her manager as appropriate.

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple job duties.
• Attention to detail and accuracy required.
• Proficient in Excel and Word, strong data entry and 10 key skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized and focused work ethic. Must be able to keep a large number of documents organized, be flexible, and manage reporting deadlines.
• Customer service, team, and goal-oriented.

Required Training and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Emphasis in Cost Accounting a plus.
• 4-7 years of experience in an Accounting Department.
