ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned. Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices. Maintains current and accurate balances of the general ledger; reconciles subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger; analyzes accounts for the nature and accuracy of transactions. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of grant records for all assigned grants. Grant files are to include applications, grant award notification, grant award budget and modifications, and reimbursement requests. Prepares, posts, and analyzes assigned journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Provide assistance to grant directors in the preparation of grant applications, grant requirements, and oversight of financial reporting related to assigned grants. Provide assistance to auditors with desk reviews and audits for assigned grants. Prepare drawdowns promptly for grants for costs supported by the general ledger for cash reimbursement. Maintain documentation to support each drawdown. Prepares and distributes monthly budget-to-actual reconciliation for assigned departments and grants. Assists in the annual audit by preparing work papers, schedules, and analyses of account balances for the Auditor and Comptroller. Conduct revenue and expenditure analysis and audits of assigned grants and projects to ensure compliance with internal controls and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Assists with other accounting functions as needed. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the appropriate authority.
