About the Agency
The Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) is committed to protecting and nurturing Mississippi’s at-risk children and families. About the Position
This position works on the grants management team. They will be responsible for monitoring grant financial information. This includes expenditures, revenue, contracts, subgrants, etc. This position will monitor each grant in accordance to agency and federal policy. In addition to monitoring and tracking, the position will also meet and work alongside different divisions within the agency and program managers in regard to each grant. This will include in person meetings and discussions on various aspects of grant management. This position will be the point of contact to represent finance for grants. This position is a support role to assist program managers in maximizing their grant dollars to provide necessary assistance to children and families in the state. This position will also be responsible for balancing expenditures against drawdowns, and reporting necessary financial information to the awarding agency. In addition, the position will be cross trained in other areas of grant management including invoicing and subgrant payments.

Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 0-2 years of experience. •

Agency Preferred Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, or directly related field;

AND Experience:

zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in Auditing and/or Accounting work.
