Field Cost Accountant (Field Clerk)General Summary of the PositionReports to Site Project ManagerSupervisor and performs field cost accounting duties and assists in assuring that contractual requirements are fully documented and met. KEMRON has projects across the US and has openings in the Northeast, Southeast and Midwest. 100% travel may be required depending on project assignment.

Essential FunctionsPerform a variety of general clerical tasks such as typing, filing, faxing, duplicating, and answering telephonesPrepare and reconcile contractor daily cost reports (EPA Form 1900-55) using the EPA Removal Cost Management System (RCMS) on EPA projects and/or Daily Reports on private projects.

Prepare and update the project burn scheduleProcure materials and subcontract services as needed at the worksite, initiate subcontract agreements and purchase ordersEnsure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followedBring problems to the attention of the Project Manager, Response Manager, Foreman, Safety Director or HR ManagerRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesMust possess strong mathematical and analytical skillsMust possess strong organizational skillsAbility to work independently and complete daily activities according to work scheduleAbility to communicate orally and in writing with all staff levelsAbility to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructionsAbility to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistencyRequired Education, Training, and ExperienceMinimum of a High School diploma or equivalentAny combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform all essential functions of the positionMust have excellent verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to communicate clearly with the Client, managers, crew and corporate support staffMinimum two (2) years of clerical experienceExcellent Microsoft Office skillsMust have strong general math skillsPrevious accounting skills preferredWork Context/Physical/Mental RequirementsRegularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust, asphalt, and hazardous materialsNoise level may be loud at timesMust be able to understand and follow KEMRON SOPs for specific task(s)Prolonged periods, generally up to 2 hours at a time, sitting at a desk and working on a computer to meet job requirementsMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at timesMust have ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for up to an hour at a time to accomplish job dutiesMust have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in an efficient mannerMust be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned tasksAbility to work after normal business hours and on weekends on an emergency and pre-arranged basis is requiredSpecial RequirementsMust possess valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment and have good driving history approved by KEMRON’s insurance carrier that qualifies employee to drive company vehiclesMust understand and sign-off on Corporate and worksite Health and Safety Plan(s)Must be willing to travel and work from a jobsite office trailerPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities which are required of the employee for this job.
