Overview
The Projects Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and management of project and technical inventory sub-ledgers, including project creation, task accounting setup, and timely sub-ledger closures. The position works closely with business owners to understand ongoing initiatives, ensuring proper setup and closure of projects while performing necessary cost adjustments and resolving interface errors. Additionally, the role includes maintaining alignment between the general ledger and sub-ledgers and preparing, reviewing, and analyzing monthly reports related to projects and inventory.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day accounting and management of the projects and technical inventory sub-ledgers for the organization.
Responsible for creation of projects and the underlying task accounting setup.
Work closely with business owners to understand ongoing company initiatives to ensure timely and appropriate project setup/closure.
Perform project/inventory cost adjustments as needed.
Maintain and balance general ledger to projects/inventory sub-ledgers.
Resolve interface errors and close the projects and inventory sub-ledgers monthly.
Prepare, review and analyze monthly projects/inventory reporting.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or closely related equivalent required.
General analytical skills and technical aptitude required.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
Experience with Microsoft Word required.
Must be able to work in a fast paced/changing environment.
PREFERRED
At least one year of relevant accounting work experience preferred.
Experience using Pivot Tables, X and V lookups preferred.
Experience with Oracle Fusion or other enterprise-level ERP preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Some weekend work may be required, especially during month, quarter, and year end close. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing the computer screen.
