Position Summary
Provide accounting, planning, tax, and performance reporting services; provides analysis of operations, budgets, and major investments. Act as a consultant to the plant on all financial aspects of the plant operations. Assist with annual operating plan & budget, month-end and year-end closings, procure-to-pay processes and monthly reporting requirements. Work with the Capital engineering group to insure completeness in reporting and spending forecasting. Provide oversight and analysis to the Plant Controller regarding production reporting, invoicing and receivables. Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Accounting
Performs general ledger duties and other intra-month transactions.
Standard journal entries during month-end and other month-end processes
Manage the entire wood purchases and inventory process.
Assist with reporting results on a weekly, monthly and/or annual basis
- written or presentation format.
Assist with pursuing continuous improvements to mill processes based on research and reporting.
Budget (OP&B)
Assist Cost Center Managers during creation of budget. Assist with input of budget into software during budget creation period.
Research variances throughout the year with Cost Center Managers.
Forecast
Assist Cost Center Managers with understanding and workings of forecasting. Analyze and forecast certain accounts.
Research variances throughout the year with Cost Center Managers.
Finance
Audit
- assist and become knowledgeable with multiple audits. Tax
- assist and become knowledgeable with real estate, equipment and sales tax.
Assist with capital assets, fixed assets, deprecation, inventory, standard costs, rebates and all other accounting duties.
Obtain knowledge of Oracle, Host, Basware, Tabware, all software related to the facility.
All other accounting and finance related duties.
Value Added - Finance
Planning - Assist the Cost Center Managers (CCMs) with planning, budgeting and forecasting activities.
Controlling Activities - Assist CCMs in understanding how, when and why activities hit their accounts. Decision Making
- Report results and assist CCMs reporting their results to improve decision making in future activities.
Also improve future decision making by researching and finding better ways to perform processes.
Project Teams/Cost Accounting:
Support the Plant Controller in cost application functions and cost analysis. Support and update cost by product press hour history and product family cost analysis
Support month end inventory updates in plant and across the system as needed.
Support monthly meetings on wood tracts and production costs.
Other Duties assigned by Management
Various Account Reconciliations in One Source and Excel
Backup for all reload inventory locations reconciliations and account transactions. Oher continuous improvement projects as the arise. Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
Must have Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance
Must have at least 2 years of experience in broad based accounting or finance
