Non-Exempt SUMMARY :
Regional Homes is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Associate to join our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field who is eager to gain hands-on experience in financial recordkeeping, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of accounting principles and be comfortable working with general ledger accounts, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records by recording transactions in the general ledger. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections. Assist with monthly and year-end close processes, preparing journal entries and financial reports. Monitor cash flow Support audit preparations by organizing documentation and assisting with external auditor requests. Maintain and update vendor and customer records in accounting software. Assist in sales tax reporting and compliance as required. Perform administrative accounting tasks such as filing, data entry, and assisting senior accountants as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or an associate’s degree with relevant experience). Knowledge of basic accounting principles, including GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn. Effective communication skills for working with vendors, customers, and internal teams. Preferred Qualifications Internship or prior work experience in bookkeeping or accounting is a plus. Familiarity with inventory accounting or multi-location retail accounting Experience working with ERP systems or cloud-based accounting software.
