Position Summary This is more than a traditional tax manager position — it’s an opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role at the center of a fast-growing, community-rooted firm. As our Tax & Operations Manager, you’ll lead our tax department and play a critical role in firm operations, making an immediate impact as you step into your responsibilities. You’ll manage the tax function, mentor a talented team, help shape firm strategy, and drive operational excellence across departments. Key Responsibilities Operations & Strategy Oversee firm workflows and interdepartmental coordination and seamless client support Identify business development opportunities for the broader firm as well as own and manage client relationships Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities Play a key role in staff development, systems planning, and organizational growth Serve as a member of the firm’s leadership team, contributing to business decisions and long-term planning Tax Leadership Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns Deliver strategic tax planning and proactive guidance to clients Supervise and mentor junior staff and EAs Ensure timely, high-quality tax deliverables across the client base Remain up-to-date on federal and state tax law changes and implications Qualifications CPA or Enrolled Agent (required) 5+ years of experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on tax Proven leadership and team management experience Strong knowledge of small business and individual tax Proficiency in tax software (e.g., Lacerte, UltraTax, ProSeries, or similar) Experience with Universal TaxWise (preferred) Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (a plus) Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary, commensurate with experience Annual performance-based bonuses 100% employer-covered health insurance Retirement plan with firm match Why You’ll Love Working Here You’ll have the autonomy to lead and the support to succeed You’ll be part of a respected, values-driven firm with a loyal and growing client base You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with team leaders to drive meaningful change You’ll be surrounded by a team that takes pride in quality work and supporting one another
