Position Overview:
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our finance department, assisting in the management of financial operations, reporting, and compliance. You will work closely with the SVP of Finance & Business Administration and finance team to ensure accurate financial records, analyze financial data, and support strategic decision-making for several business units. This role offers room for advancement and progression within the organization, and will involve comprehensive training and development in all facets of the complete accounting cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Full Cycle Accounting (Experience preferred)
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
Prepare journal entries.
Participate in month-end and year-end close processes.
Complete variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies.
Perform general cost accounting and inventory review and analysis.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Perform monthly bank and merchant account reconciliations.
Assist in managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data.
Support internal and external audits.
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and processes.
Stay current with accounting regulations and best practices.
Maintain and monitor a sound internal control environment.
Contribute to special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is a plus.
Two plus (2+) years
FULL CYCLE
accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
