Description We are looking for a skilled Public Staff Tax Accountant to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. Responsibilities:

• Manage bookkeeping tasks to ensure accurate financial records and reports.
• Utilize Drake Tax Software to efficiently prepare and file tax returns.
• Perform payroll processing and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Prepare property tax returns and address related inquiries.
• Handle sales tax filings and maintain compliance with state and local requirements.
• Use QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online to manage accounts and reconcile transactions.
• Provide reliable tax preparation services, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Conduct financial analysis and reporting using Microsoft Excel.
• Assist clients with tax-related questions and offer guidance on best practices. Requirements
• Proven experience in bookkeeping and accounting practices.
• Proficiency in Drake Tax Software for tax preparation and filing.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Demonstrated expertise in payroll processing and related compliance.
• Experience with property tax returns and sales tax filings.
• Strong familiarity with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online.
• Solid understanding of tax preparation processes and best practices.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet strict deadlines.
